Program Evaluation and Grantmaking

For: grantmakers

Accountability is the new watchword in the non-profit world. As a grantmaker you need to know when to ask for evaluation, what you can expect, and how to help your grantees to make the most of the evaluation experience to enhance effectiveness. In this hands-on workshop you will learn how to frame an evaluation project, develop good questions and manage the evaluation process. You will become familiar with evaluation "lingo" and be introduced to the utilization-focused evaluation approach.

Planning and Implementing Your Own Evaluation

For: non profit managers

Are you writing a grant that requires you to describe how you will evaluate your program? Have you been asked to provide your funders with an evaluation report? In this workshop you will learn how to plan a goal-focused evaluation. As each step is introduced you will apply your learning to your own program. By the end of this one-day workshop you will have a basic evaluation plan to take home with you.

"I really enjoyed your class, and because this is such a new area -- each time I walked out of your class I felt like I had been introduced to a whole new area of philanthropy. Thank you very much!"

"I had a meeting about program evaluation in my organization here in Brazil and it was easier than ever. I told them about the One Million Men March story and their insight was the same of mine: we are counting the men. I´m sure we changed our point of view after that course!"
